Review Week 20 / 2024

  • Review goals self.
  • Plan out week.
  • Review hand written notes.

Summary of the week (100 words)

The main ideas from this week were from Sivers findingyourheliumbaloon. I started learning Julia this week which has been interesting.

I’d like to simplify things a small bit. That all I do is either hang out with people, read or work or something like that. Just simplifies the choices in a day and might help with my anxiety. Various activities could come under these.

As much as it pains me to say it, I think just doing my workout first thing is a good idea. Because I’m trying to just knock it out in 30/40 min. So maybe try skipping the coffee.

Review Progress on goals/habits

I started reading linearregressionotherstoreis which takes a more hands on approach to learning statistics.

I’m not hitting my target of reading an hour a day. Generally, I’m not reading a lot these days.

What I might do this week is 30m either problem solving or active recall sessions with calculus. I’ll try just doing 3 of them this week. With the active recall, I’ll look at breaking it down into topics and keep a sheet of questions for each topic.

Maybe at the weekend then I can do an hour of problem sets.

Need to look at purging useless notes this week.

I’m not to sure what questions I want to answer wrt to data etc.

How did you sleep this week?

Generally, not great. The early mornings are probably not ideal. As much as I like them, I’m not giving sleep a priority.

How was your diet this week, did you eat enough?

Definitely ate way too much dark chocolate. Feel like I’m eating enough these days alright.

How many social events did you go to?

The company offsite if that counts. Apart from that, just jiu-jitsu.
