As a state has two disconnected regions: the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. The region of Palestine also includes Israel.
Conflict between Arabic and Jewish People
The British Mandate for Palestine included the Balfour Decalration of 1917 in which the British expressed support to establish a national home for the Jewish people. Possibly as a ploy to enlist the Jewish people in their efforts against the Ottoman empire in WWI.
Edward Said has this notion of “Orientalism” which is just an antithesis to the West.
Benedict Anderson is supposed to have what seems to be an interesting idea about imagined communities.
